You must take a WAV (Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle) class, which new TLC applicants can take for FREE at the Uber office.

Take the WAV class for free at the Uber office

The Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) class is one of the requirements for the TLC license. The 3-hour class costs $75 at most schools, but the class is offered by at Uber's office free of charge to any new applicants who are in the process of getting a TLC license for the first time. All you have to do is sign up below.

NOTE: You must take this class AFTER you have submitted your TLC application. If you do not include your TLC application number when you schedule the class, you must bring your TLC application number on the day of the class or you will not be admitted.

*The class at Uber's office is taught through a partnership with LaGuardia Community College, a certified TLC course provider.

What do I do after the wav class?

Most TLC applicants usually have only the 24-hour FHV course remaining after completing the WAV course. If you did any of the licensing steps out of order, look at our TLC checklist to make sure you have not forgotten anything.
